I’m an academic researcher, media literacy educator, and founder of iConnect Lab. My work is dedicated to advancing media literacy within communities, with a particular focus on promoting digital well-being and media education for young people.
I hold a PhD in Media and Communication from NOVA University of Lisbon, was a visiting researcher at the University of York in the UK, and have led media training programs with Deutsche Welle Akademie in Germany, as well as overseeing media and advertising projects for Google in Ireland.
Currently, I’m conducting research on media literacy in early childhood and leading media training initiatives across Europe and the U.S. My previous work has explored youth, the internet, and civic engagement, as well as local media, empowerment, and community-building. Lately I’ve been actively exploring creative methods to expand academic dialogue, integrating artistic practices as portals for reflection, communication, and deeper questioning.
